Kate’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in in Writer’s Digest, LION Magazine, USAA Financial Magazine, Writer’s Market and Sport Literate, along with many regional magazines, newspapers and visitors’ guides. She is a three-time contributor to Chicken Soup for the Soul and writes regularly for Kansas City Parent Magazine.
As an editor/consultant, Kate has worked with nonfiction and fiction writers, students with an interest in creative writing (her youngest client is 9), PhD candidates and business owners to effectively communicate creative and original ideas.
She has served as a community editor for a start-up newspaper, and was a co-founder of a bilingual community newsletter in Indiana. She also served as a nonfiction reader for the Kansas City-based literary magazine, New Letters.
Kate co-leads a weekly writer’s group in Louisburg and has led writing workshops at colleges, churches, senior citizens centers and libraries, as well as at The Writer’s Place in Kansas City.
