The Summer Story Accelerator is a hands-on approach to getting your life story down on paper, with one-on-one coaching calls and live group sessions where we walk through each pillar of writing our stories together, as outlined in the Life Story Workbook:
Session 1: Reflect (6/20 @ 12 pm MT)
Take a birds-eye view of your story to establish the what, the who and the why.
Session 2: Gather (6/23 @ 12 pm MT)
Advice and encouragement for where and how to gather your resources, including from places you may have not even considered.
Session 3: Plan (6/27 @ 12 pm MT)
Lay out a plan for the actual writing itself, and determine how you’ll track your progress (by word count? by time?).
-7 weeks of writing –
Regular check-ins with accountability partners and scheduling your one-on-one coaching calls.
Session 4: Celebrate (8/8 @ 12 pm MT)
Mark your milestones, and celebrate when you reach them!
The Life Story Workbook is helpful to have as we work through the Accelerator, but it’s not required. You can purchase and download your copy of the workbook here, if you’d like!
Here is what to expect on each of the scheduled group Zoom calls:
Advice and encouragement for where and how to gather your resources, including from places you may have not even considered. Hear from others where they are going and what they are doing to tap into resources, plan interviews and conduct research for their stories.
A goal without a plan is meaningless. Decide how you will schedule and track your writing time and put that plan to paper. Team up with an accountability partner from the group to check in with and encourage you (and vice versa) through the writing process.
After seven weeks of writing, we'll meet one final time to celebrate the work you have accomplished! You don't have to be completely finished with your story (if you are, that's awesome!), but we'll talk about where you are and what happens next! BYOB and get ready to have a good time!
By joining the Summer Story Accelerator, you’re saying “yes” to your life story. You’re acknowledging that it is important. Forget the “I’ll write my story someday.” Someday might never happen. Commit to it today. You’ll be so glad you did!
