Kate Meadows Writing & Editing offers a variety of editorial services and feedback to fit your needs and your budget. From line-editing for punctuation and spelling to complete developmental editing, we customize an editing and/or publishing plan to meet your needs.

We offer editing services, manuscript feedback and publishing options on book-length nonfiction and creative nonfiction, including: biography, autobiography, memoir, self-help, business, inspiration/motivation, family history, general history, life stories, essay collections and flash creative nonfiction.

Editing & Publishing Services

Manuscript Critiques

Manuscript critiques are designed for shorter, one-time feedback sessions on an essay, memoir chapter, book excerpt or flash.

Critique Package Includes:

One 20-minute coaching session to help us thoroughly understand your work, the context around it and your goal(s) for it
Constructive feedback on up to 5,000 words, including line edits and developmental edits, as well as a one-page write-up summarizing the writing’s strengths and suggested areas of improvement

Short works (up to 2,500 words)

For writers seeking editorial feedback on an essay, chapter or excerpt or flash.

Medium-length works (2,501-5,000 words)

For writers seeking editorial feedback on a longer essay, multiple chapters or an excerpt of a book-length work.

Long works (5,001-10,000 words)

For writers seeking editorial feedback on a longform essay, multiple chapters or a longer excerpt of a book-length work.

Project Mapping Session

A one-time creative mapping or project mapping session can help you gain clarity on the story you’re trying to tell, why you’re the person to tell it, what your ultimate goal is in writing the story, and more. Session includes a one-on-one Zoom call and specific recommended actions post-call. When you purchase a project mapping session, you’ll receive a link to schedule your Zoom call, plus a follow-up email from us to confirm the session.

Editing & Publishing Packages

Our editing and publishing services are designed for authors who are seeking the next step on a longer work-in-progress.

Editing and publishing packages include:

A 30-minute consult to help us thoroughly understand your project and what type of editing/publishing services you need
Constructive feedback on your writing, including line edits and/or developmental edits (depending on your desired outcome), as well as a one-page write-up summarizing the writing’s strengths and suggested areas of improvement
A follow-up consult to address any questions over the editorial feedback and identify next steps on your writing journey
